Oh so Pretty.

Fall is definitely in the air, but a girl can never have too much pink.  Here are some pink designs for you.  Each one went to some very special girls.

Dahlias and sunflowers are blooming like crazy.  Both are available in my signature Garden bouquet, by the bunch or by the bucket.   The Dahlia garden is a sight to see with just about 300 plants in full bloom.

Irresistible Irises.

Need flowers for a special event in your home?  Order up a couple of our Custom Vases for the event.  Here are two that went to a Food and Wine Pairing party.  Aren't these Irises stunning.

A winning combination with Burgundy, yellow and various shades of green.   I also like the second color combo of Burgundy with every so pale pink.  I do have some garden bouquets done up in these colors as well.

We are also starting to pick Peonies so should have some bouquet and Bunches available for the end of the week.

This week's Seasonal Bouquet

Here is my design this week for the Seasonal Bouquet Project.  Clematis is a new cut for me to experiment with.  This one is Nellie Moser.  I love the movement of the vines.  Also Delphiniums are starting to bloom so had to use them as well.  Also included are some just divine Lavender irises.
This will be the last week for Lupines and Weigela.  I Love my new Milk Jug that I got from Red Door Farms.  You will see it filled with flowers at the front of the store all season long.
The first of the Peonies. We are still a good week away from having any Peonies available but there were a few small flowers on some new plants that wanted to be picked.  Love this cute little design.
Pre-orders are still a great idea as flowers as still just starting.

What's happening on the Flower Farm?

It has been a very busy couple of weeks with lots and lots of planting and maintenance going on.  I am determined to not run out of flowers this season.  We will see how that unfolds.  Lots of new lilies, perennials and annuals being planted.

I have also been creating a flower portfolio on Pinterest.  What a great way to show off our Floral designs and flowers.  I have pinned more than 200 pictures.  Please head on over and take a look.

I hope to have a few bouquets this weekend. Please call ahead as the garden is just starting to give me some flowers.

I needed a flower fix.

Flower Season on the Farm does not start until sometime in May but I needed a flower fix. I must say the spring color in the garden is a bit lacking,  but I was able to find a few things in bloom.  I was inspired by this blog.

Narcissus can be a little challenging to design with because they do not play nice with other flowers.  Narcissus when cut ooze a sap that is toxic to other flowers.  Here's the trick.  Cut them all different lengths and let sit 4-6 hours in a water by themselves to callus over the end.  DO NOT RE-CUT.  Just place into design and enjoy.

Artisan Gift shop Open.

The Artisan Gift shop is Open. Our Gift shop features local artisan and crafters with items such as handcrafted candles and soap, birdhouses, wind chimes, knitted and woven  items and  sewn items for the home.   We also have a abundant supply of Farm honey.

The Flower Shop is still dormant but I hope to have some flower for Mid May.  I have been busy planting lots of new flowers for the season and things are growing well.

Here are some to the baby plants just waiting to be put in the ground.  Snap dragons and Zinnias.
